Home Improvement Grants Scheme - Replacement Grant

Benefit Category Housing

Overview

What is it?

Due to a funding shortfall, NIHE will not be able to accept any new applications.

The Home Improvements Grants Scheme is administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, but applies to owner-occupiers. This particular grant is also available to landlords in certain areas.

The property must be beyond reasonable repair and the grant must be approved before any work takes place. The amount of grant available depends on your income. The maximum is £31,500. If you wish to carry out more extensive work, you will have to meet the cost of it yourself.

How do I get it?

For more information about this you can contact a local advice service.

To apply for the Replacement Grant, you need to contact your local Housing Executive Grants Office.

The Housing Executive has made special arrangements with outside organisations to help older people to apply for this grant. Your local Housing Executive Grants Office will refer you to them.
