Home Improvement Grants Scheme - Repairs Grant

Benefit Category Housing

Overview

What is it?

Due to a funding shortfall, NIHE will not be able to accept any new applications.

The Home Improvements Grants Scheme is administered by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and this grant applies to landlords and some private tenants.

If a Public Health Notice or Certificate of Disrepair is served on a property, a Repairs Grant may be payable. A Repairs Grant can only be paid after repair work is carried out and will not cover any new improvements, however you must apply before carrying out any work.

The amount payable depends on the nature of the work and the Net Annual Valuation (NAV) of the dwelling.  The applicable grant is also subject to a percentage calculation and the maximum grant which can be awarded is £7,500.

How do I get it?
