Overview
What is it?
If you receive the low or high rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance, are registered partially-sighted, have a learning disability known to your Health and Social Services Trust, or are unable to get a driving licence on medical grounds, you can get a pass which will give you half fares on public transport in Northern Ireland.
How do I get it?
For more information about this you can contact a local advice service.
The concessionary half-fare SmartPass is free of charge but you will need to provide a passport-size colour photograph. You can get an application form from any main bus or train station. You can also get a concessionary fare application form from Social Security offices or from your local Health and Social Services Trust. Your pass will last for five years. After this time, you will be sent information on how to renew it.
